About the Campus

The Campus was created in 2013 to offer an alternative to virtual training, based on a constructive learning, accompanied by a tutor.

This Campus is under the leadership of the Learning and Innovation Unit of the International Federation of the Red Cross – America´s Region . This Unit has a dual goal of on one hand, help institutionalize best practices in the management of learning and knowledge between National Societies and the Federation Secretariat, and capture best practices, and promote peer support. The Unit also promotes the use of new technologies among National Societies to optimize information management as well as disaster preparedness, response and recovery, both internally of the Federation and other humanitarian agencies and educational institutions, research and private industry.

Similarly, the Unit seeks to establish mechanisms for cooperation and exchange of information and knowledge, contributing to the gradual establishment of an Inter-American Platform for Knowledge Management; promote coordination among reference centers, universities, training centers of National Societies and other humanitarian agencies.
